I think I know now why it does that, try going fullscreen using F11 with the WebGL version, for me it works at least on level 30.
The issue is because of overlapping UI layers and it seems to block raycasts to the grid buttons, and the proper fullscreen layout has room for the entire grid at all times.

Love the game! I got to layer 29 but the top row is sadly unclickable :(
